Achievements 

MUDRA

(Indian Contemporary)

Team Mudra came into existence in August 2015. A year later team begun its glorious winning streak in Bangalore college fests, when it came under the guidance and leadership of Mr. Akash Nandagudi, the official choreographer of the team. It involves a style called Eastern (also called as Indian contemporary) which is a combination of classical, Bollywood and a little bit of western as well as contemporary. Mudra is an heavenly art of articulating character . The members of the Indian contemporary dance team, Mudra believe in emphasizing the beauty of dance through their routines . It's when you perceive the music and channel your passion will the grace rise to one's feet.

AIKYA(Bollywood)

​From the energetic beats of Sholay to the melodious voice of Lata Mangeshkar, Bollywood holds a special place in every Indian's heart; and the Bollywood dance team brings the best of Bollywood dance. Aikya is the official Bollywood dance team of Dayananda Sagar Institutions. The team has gone through a drastic change through the years and was coined AIKYA in January 2020. Since then the team has been actively participating in the college events and inter-college online competitions. We also have an active Instagram page under the banner ‘TEAM AIKYA’ entertaining our audience with quarantainment episodes, duo series and promotional videos for the movies from sandalwood industry.  Bollywood style is the dance form used in the Indian film industry. It does not imply to stick on to one dance form, but there is room to explore and combine different styles of dance. Expressions and energy are the highlights of this style, coupled with body language and eye-catching moves.

NaatyaabhinayaSaagari is the classical dance team of DSI. Founded in 2016, we have evolved into a team that primarily performs the graceful dance form, Bharatanayam. While time and type progress even in dance, a part of us will never leave what we have loved since ancient times. What's better than our ancient dance forms, to portray with grace, the devotion that's deep in us?  Every mudra, every posture is sure to leave you spellbound. Classical dance is our connection with our history, our culture and it's the one which gives us pride on the global platform. The Classical dance team, ‘Naatyaabhinyasaagari'puts forward the most breathtaking classical dance performances you've ever seen.

NAATYAABHINAYA SAAGARI (Classical)

From the taverns of Ireland to the ballrooms of Europe, western dance is a global language that has its roots wide and deep. The Western Dance team translate it perfectly as they channel their energy and emotion into their performances. They, the Hip-Hop hub of the college, are the ‘Atomic Break Down’ crew.  The dancers never fail to amaze the audience; every performance by the ABD sets the stage on fire! Hip Hop is a movement that represents the freedom to learn, grow, and evolve. But in order to understand this dance form, it’s important to have a base understanding of Hip Hop culture as a whole . What distinguishes hip-hop from other forms of dance is that it is often "freestyle" (improvisational) in nature and hip-hop dance crews often engage in freestyle dance competitions-colloquially referred to as "battles". Crews, freestyling, and battles are identifiers of this style.
